It’s been a very long time that I’ve gone to the movies and came out in a nice bubble of giddy happiness. The Showman did that to me. You know what I mean, you go to the cinema watch a movie, and it doesn’t effect you. But there’s an occasional movie that leaves you with a nice gooey feeling in your stomach.
The Showman did that to me.
It was the best movie I’ve seen in years!
While I was driving home I was already planning on seeing it again. I cannot fault it.
I went into it not knowing that it was a musical and for the first two-to-three songs I was put off. Like being hit in the face and left behind and then trying to catch up and wrap my head around the singing.
Once I got into the swing of it, it was pure Magical! The music is all upbeat and energetic that has you wanting to burst out of your chair while watching it and break into a dance. Even listening to the songs leaves a nice warm fluttery feeling that I start to wish all songs were like the ones in this movie; telling a story by the lyrics.
I loved every-single-damn-second of it. I know it’s gotten mixed reviews but for a movie to leave me in a happy bubble for hours after watching it, I just cannot fault it. Hugh Jackman is an amazing singer. I loved him in Les Mis and he was the best choice for the role of P. T. Barnum.
This is what happens when bad writing happens to good actors.
A small group of military personnel and survivalists dwell in an underground bunker as they seek to find a cure in a world overrun by zombies.
I love zombie movies, and when they are done good, they are great. Think of (of course) The Walking Dead and World War Z, both different media formats but both take zombies and turn it into their own.
Day of The Dead is what happens when it doesn’t work.
Like other zombie-takes, they try and give zombies another name that isn’t zombie. The name giving in Day of The Dead is ‘rotters’. Rotters just doesn’t have the same ring to it and worst of all, there’s no reasoning behind it. They just call them ‘rotters’, because well…yea, we never find out. Should’ve just stuck with zombie.
There was constantly an aspect of the movie that was missing the mark, whether the writing was good in a certain scene, the editing would ruin it or a weak actor would butcher their lines or the storyline would bomb.
Oh, the storyline- it uses too just too many cliché to move the story along that it never connects…rape to make to just make a baddie a baddie also to have the much needed melodrama with the two main couple, yep! Gotta to have flashback moment for good measure.
The acting from the majority of the actors was great…much better than you’d expect from the mediocre writing and overall storyline.
Zombie and horror lovers, just give this one a miss.
Okay, I’m not excited about it, I have to admit.I use to be a HUGE Harry Potter fan. When we saw this trailer it went into a big discussion of who was the bigger Harry Potter fan, and said people thought I wasn’t a fan of Harry Potter- this was when I pulled out my fanfiction.
Yes, I use to write Harry Potter fan fiction. It’s probably the only reason I got so good at writing, becasue I was hooked on getting feedback and getting major fans. I got to ‘legend’ status on said fanfiction site that people use to fangirl and gush when my ‘high’ self left reviews.
The fanfics are still up [I left them up for my fans to continue to enjoy them]. But I hate this whole ‘I’m a bigger Harry Potter fan-thing that Harry Potter fans have going on.
I will see this movie, but I doubt I’ll go and see it in the cinema. Wait till it comes out on dvd and see it then- this is just people trying to make money from the franchise, and has nothing to do with the original story – but is all focused on money-making.
I just saw this a few minutes ago and was left speechless. Oh look a happy Christmas Movie.
It looks good, and I know more-than-likely I’ll end up watching it this winter. But the acting is a bit off- even in the trailer. I hope it’s good, because the premise is cool and different, and I’m dying to see a really good haunted movie lately. So, fingers crossed.
Vin Diesel plays the last remaining witch hunter who must battle against an uprising of witches in modern day New York. ‘The Last Witch Hunter’ also stars Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood and Michael Caine. In theaters October 23, 2015.
HOW THE HELL DID THIS GET BY ME???!
This is what I’m talking about!! Kick-ass fantasy movies that you know is just going to kill it. This is what I’m looking for in movies. That’s not even putting into consideration on who’s playing the main part….
OMG!! I swear you not, I fell off the sofa when I saw this, this is one of the movies that is going on my ‘must see’ list!
That’s not even going into the fact that we have Michael Cain and some crazy-ass effects on the trailer alone, this is how you do trailers, this is how you put a movie together. YOU DON’T PUSSY-FOOT AROUND IT!
SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
We finally got a Supergirl movie!!!
But, I just wish they’d be a bit better. I don’t know. The hero finally comes clean on who she is, wants to save the world, and then get told that she cant do it…this trope is in at least 90% of the comic movies out nowadays. It was cool at the start when it started happening, now it’s just like watching another movie all over again, just with different characters.
I’m sad. Like not even the omg, It’s over said. The type of sad as in my heart is already starting to ache from not being able to see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine anymore. I’m going to end up treasuring every last Wolverine-Jackman day before I go and see this movie, and then it’s all over…for good. Then I wont be able to pretend that he’s still a mutant, that I will no longer have Wolverine to look forward to. Xmen were a big thing when I was a kid, but I never paid close attention to them. Then he took the reigns as the leading mutant and I was hooked from the first movie. This is going to hurt worst than the ending of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings… It’s going to be that level of devastation.
I love the poster, one last time. One last time out in an adventure with our favourite mutant and hopefully he get’s the amazing send-off he deserves. I don’t know, but I’m already getting a very no-going-back type of ending from the sentence and the one claw. A part of me wants Wolverine to die a hero’s death. So that we don’t have any hope of him coming back. The have a clean finale. No coming back. It’s easier to say goodbye.
